You can call India for 0.15 Euro cents, Pakistan for 0.085 Euro cents, etc. It also offers free calls to a few destinations including Canada, USA, UK(Landline), Singapore, Taiwan, China, Portugal, Thailand, Spain, Russia, France, Germany, Spain, Hong Kong, and Japan. You can make calls using their dialer. SmartVoIP also offers SIP support, so you can use it with your VoIP hardware or software. The SIP settings are:
SIP port : 5060
Registrar : sip.smartvoip.com
Proxy server : sip.smartvoip.com
Outbound proxy server : leave empty
Account name : your SmartVoip username
Password : your SmartVoip password
Display name/number : your SmartVoip username or voipnumber
Stunserver (option) : stun.smartvoip.com
It also provides local access numbers in a lot of countries, thus allowing you to use the service anywhere like a calling card. You can add your mobile number to the account so that you do not have to enter the PIN numbers. You could even use this trick so that you can dial the destination directly without listening to any prompts.
I have personally used SmartVoIP and other Betamax services and am completely satisfied with the service. I have never faced any billing issues, although some people have complained about such issues.

I recommend checking out www.voipian.com, they have a deal where you only pay 1 cent per call and no charges per minute. Could be interesting for all bargain voip users...
